Frequently Asked Questions
Can I donate gently used items?
No, we are only accepting new, unwrapped items to ensure all gifts are safe and in giftable condition for children and teens. We encourage you to donate your gently used items to local charities.
Do I need to wrap the gifts?
No, please leave gifts unwrapped. We and our volunteers will take care of sorting, wrapping, and labelling each gift by age group to ensure they’re ready for distribution.
What types of gifts are most needed?
All age groups are important, but we especially need gifts for babies and teens, as these groups tend to receive fewer toy/gift donations. Check our Suggested Gift Ideas above for inspiration.
Can I donate cash instead of toys?
Yes! Cash donations are greatly appreciated and help cover the cost of wrapping supplies and gifts for age groups that may be underrepresented.
Are donations tax-deductible?
No. This is a local non-profit initiative, but it is not run by a charity organization, therefore tax receipts will not be provided.
How can I volunteer to help with the toy drive?
We’d love to have your help! You can sign up to volunteer for sorting, wrapping, and event support. View the Volunteer Opportunities section above for more details.
Where do the donated gifts go?
It is important to us to support our local community. All gifts will stay within Norfolk County. They will be distributed through our local partners connected to families in need. If we collect extra gifts, they will be distributed by nomination to families within the community.
How can I become a sponsor or host a donation bin?
We are open to new community partnerships! Please contact us at info@rockinholidaytoydrive.com to discuss sponsorship opportunities or hosting a donation bin.
